Weiss opens a new chapter in China – for Asia and the world

What began in 1815 as a small glue factory founded by Philipp Carl Weiss in Haiger, Germany, has grown into an international group serving customers and markets around the globe.

Now, China is writing an entirely new chapter in the WEISS story at record speed – or, as they say here, at “China Speed”. A chapter that starts in Qingdao, but reaches far beyond:

For China. For Asia. For the World.

Together with around 150 guests, we celebrated the grand opening of our new production site in Qingdao’s Sino-German Ecopark – including 40 of our largest customers and distributors from across Asia, valued suppliers and partners, distinguished guests, and the management team of the WEISS Group.

It was a truly international celebration of a truly historic milestone.

Speeches by Alexander Weiß, Chairman of our Advisory Board and representative of the owner family, representatives of the Sino-German Ecopark and AHK Greater China, and our CEO Christian Doelle were followed by a traditional Chinese lion dance and the official opening of the new facility.

But Qingdao is much more than another production site. It marks the next stage of WEISS evolving into a truly global manufacturing company.

At our new operational platform in Qingdao, we are bringing together more than 210 years of German adhesive expertise with local state-of-the-art know-how, a flexible local manufacturing set-up, and the strength and speed of Asian markets – serving customers in China, across Asia, and around the world.

For more than two centuries, our business has been about creating strong connections.
