Statement referring the requirement for CE marking for adhesives
There are no general performance descriptions available for adhesives as stand-alone products and therefore, a generally applicable CE marking may not be issued! Adhesives that have to be provided with the CE mark result from the applicable regulations and standards for the respective fields of application that include a performance description.
Here are some examples for which adhesives/sealants must be equipped with the CE mark.
- Adhesives for pressure pipe systems from thermoplastic plastic materials for fluids - as per EN 14814
- Adhesive for tiles - as per EN 12004
- Joint sealants for façade elements, for glazing elements, for joints in sanitary areas and for pedestrian ways - as per DIN EN 15651

o Part 2: Joint sealants for glazing elements
o Part 3: Sealants for joints in sanitary areas
o Part 4: Sealants for pedestrian ways
