Composite panels for the trailer construction

By using ultra-light sandwich panels in trailer manufacturing, a significant weight reduction can be achieved compared to conventional structures. At the same time, our panels offer high stability and excellent thermal insulation properties.

They are used for roofs, walls, doors, and floor panels.

Depending on the required specifications and application, we develop the appropriate panel for your needs. Numerous material combinations are possible. In practice, sandwich panels with outer layers made of aluminum, GRP (glass fiber reinforced plastic), or PVC have proven particularly effective.

Sandwich panels for roof elements

The core requirements for a roof element are low weight and high mechanical stiffness.

Typical panel structure (example)

  • Outer layer: GRP surface layer, smooth or with gelcoat
  • Core: XPS or PUR
  • Inner layer: GRP surface layer

Properties

  • High compressive and bending strength
  • Permanently moisture resistant
  • No swelling behavior, therefore no dimensional changes
  • Minimal moisture absorption

Sandwich panels for wall elements

The side walls ensure the stability of the entire box body. Depending on the application, additional properties such as good insulation performance may also be important.

Typical panel structure (example)

  • Outer layer: GRP surface layer, smooth or with gelcoat
  • Core: XPS, PUR, or TK
  • Inner layer: GRP surface layer

Properties

  • Screwable when combined with a TK core
  • Customizable design according to specifications

Sandwich panels for floor elements

Despite their low weight, floor panels must provide high mechanical strength together with good wear resistance. These requirements can be met by selecting suitable core materials and surface layers depending on the application.

Typical panel structure (example)

  • Top side: GRP surface layer, anti-slip
  • Core: XPS, PUR, or TK
  • Bottom side: GRP surface layer, smooth

Properties

  • High compressive and bending strength
  • Permanently moisture resistant
  • Slip resistance class 13
  • Environmentally friendly inserts (TK is 100% recycled)
  • No swelling behavior, therefore no dimensional changes
  • Minimal moisture absorption
